Strawberry Update #2

YES YES YES!!!! I planted the strawberries today!

Got my grid up. I just wrap yarn around screws to make my grid. CHEAP!!!
I loosed up the soil and sprinkled some MycoStim powder in it to help with transplant shock.

This is my first time using this powder. My good friend Jill gave this to me. I used it when I transplanted my seedlings into bigger pots too. I didn’t loose one plant! I love this stuff so far.

32 strawberry plants.

It sucks we will not have strawberries this year. The first year you need to remove all the flowers and keep only 3-4 runners. This helps to build up the plant for a large harvest in it’s 2nd year!

For the next several nights I will cover the newly planted strawberries overnight to make sure they stay warm enough. I used a blanket and metal beach towel clips to hold it down. These clips are amazing! I used to have plastic ones but after one season they start to get brittle and break.

What was the first plant you planted this year?
